Farhana Alimohamed
Farhana Alimohamed has been appointed as Non-Executive Resident Director on 12 November 2019. Her approach of only looking forward in any circumstances has taken Nexus to the next level in a short span of time.
Farhana Alimohamed has a combined experience of more than 20 years in the financial services sector. Her career started at Hajee Abdoula & Ramtoola, Chartered Accountant (now known as Morison International) as a trainee accountant back in 1997. Later, she joined Grant Thornton as an auditor. During that period, her portfolio of clients ranged from domestic small private companies to large corporations and also offshore companies.
In 2001, she joined AAMIL Global financial services Ltd as an Assistant Accountant/ Assistant Operations Manager. Her interest for global business sector grew and she took on additional duties and responsibilities as Manager at Anex Management Services Ltd. In July 2012, she was promoted as the Head of Operations of the company after being at the Senior Manager level for 5 years and she now leads the company as executive director.
She has substantial experience in fund and company set up, corporate administration, company secretarial, Mauritius tax law, company law, accounting, auditing, and compliance/ customer due diligence and overseas marketing assignments to promote Mauritius as an offshore destination since the start of her career. She holds directorship in several offshore and domestic client companies including investment managers/ advisors and collective investment schemes.
The foundation of her career in financial services was laid at Morrison International where she was trained as an auditor and at the same time, she studied towards her CIMA qualification. To further enhance her skills and to build up as a finance professional, she joined Grant Thornton as an Accountant later on.
Nundan Sharma Doorgakant
Nundan Sharma Doorgakant joined Nexus Global Opportunities Fund on 12 November 2019 as Non-Executive Resident Director and is an experienced professional with over 15 years of financial services exposure.
Nundan Sharma Doorgakant is a Fellow member of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with specialisation in financial services. Nundan Sharma Doorgakant joined Grant Thornton Mauritius as an Audit junior in 2009. Following his excellent performances and after completion of his ACCA studies, he was promoted to Audit Senior in 2010 where he was in charge of various audit and non-audit engagements from various sectors.
In 2011, he moved up in the hierarchy and was promoted to Audit Supervisor where his role broadened. He was responsible for the good functioning of the audit team and was heavily involved in assessing the risks of various clients prior to the start of audit engagements and was reporting directly to managers/partners on various issues.
In July 2014, Nundan Sharma Doorgakant moved to the Advisory department of Grant Thornton as an Assistant Manager where he was responsible for advisory engagements such as independent business review, cash flow management, strategic restructuring of companies in crisis.
In January 2015, Nundan Sharma Doorgakant joined Anex Management Services Ltd as Assistant Manager (Finance & Operation). He has been promoted to Director of Finance & Operations in 2018.
Nundan Sharma Doorgakant has developed expertise in advising corporate and tax structuring, mitigating various risks, optimising fund performance and financial management. He also serves as director on several companies and Funds.
Nundan Sharma Doorgakant enjoys trying new sports and discovering new places and cultures.
